An Integrated Solution Utilizing Centracs Atms for the System Software and Econolite’s Asc/3 Controller Hardware and Software on the Street

The City of Charlotte, which operates nearly 800 signalized intersections, needed a proven, fully integrated traffic management solution and required system deployment and changeover within six months of Notice to Proceed. After an exhaustive procurement and field-trial process, the City selected Econolite to provide Centracs ATMS as the system software and Econolite’s ASC/3 controller hardware and software on the street.

Econolite implemented a fast-track schedule that compressed design, prioritized early deployment, and staged parallel field data conversion and cutover with City staff; the system design was approved 30 days after Notice to Proceed and the system was operational on-site within 60 days. Econolite completed replacement of 145 CBD controllers and cutover in three months, upgraded 2070 controllers to ASC/3-2070 software, performed full data conversion and WMS-based GIS integration for graphical maps—meeting the City’s six-month requirement and delivering a rapid, low-risk deployment backed by Econolite’s prior experience.
