Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP (Freshfields) is a global law firm with 28 offices that had been publicly reporting GHG emissions since 2012 but was relying on spreadsheets for data collection and manual reporting. Faced with the need to report scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions plus waste, paper and water across 27 offices in 16 countries, and to improve maintenance of emission factors, robustness of calculations, live centralised monitoring and internal time savings, Freshfields selected Ecometrica and the Ecometrica Platform to replace their spreadsheet-based processes.

Ecometrica implemented its Sustainability modules and Business Intelligence module to enable real-time consumption and emissions reporting, centralized data management, clearer audit trails and easier third‑party verification, supported by a dedicated team of sustainability analysts. As a result, the Ecometrica Platform improved visibility and management of Freshfields’ sustainability data, allowed tracking against four key environmental targets, and delivered a significant reduction in the time and effort required to collect, compile and report environmental impacts.
