Case Study: CSA Group achieves faster, auditable global GHG reporting with Ecometrica

CSA’s switch from spreadsheets to Ecometrica saves time, improves analysis, and gets assurance from KPMG

CSA Group, a not‑for‑profit standards organization founded in 1919 with 36 sites in 15 countries, needed to produce Corporate GHG Protocol and ISO‑14064‑1–compliant greenhouse gas assessments across diverse testing facilities. Until FY2009 the group used spreadsheets for assessments, which became time‑consuming and difficult to maintain after acquisitions and organizational changes, so CSA Group engaged Ecometrica and adopted the Ecometrica Platform.

Ecometrica implemented the Ecometrica Platform for CSA’s FY2010 assessment, uploaded FY2009 historical data, and ran FY2010 and FY2011 assessments concurrently. Ecometrica’s database calculated global scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions (including testing gases), handled technical QA and reporting, and gave KPMG auditor access for verification; CSA achieved reasonable assurance to the chosen protocol and completed two years of global GHG accounts in less than a year, improving analysis and saving significant time.
