A Ecometrica Case Study
Associated British Foods (ABF), a FTSE 100 multinational food and retail group operating across about 80 countries, needed a way to measure and report annual tCO2e across its complex businesses without forcing staff to learn a new system. ABF’s existing BSI Entropy platform collected data but lacked built‑in emission factors and calculation capability for mandatory carbon reporting, so the company engaged Ecometrica to add carbon reporting functionality while preserving the familiar interface.
Ecometrica implemented its EHS module via an API that integrates with BSI Entropy, configured the back‑end to run emissions calculations, and maintains an audit‑ready global emissions factor database (including custom factors such as sugar beet) while providing analyst support for data entry and QA. The Ecometrica integration carbon‑enabled ABF’s existing software with no interface change, delivered PwC‑audit‑ready outputs, up‑to‑date factors across ABF’s footprint, and a cost‑effective route to compliant, measurable GHG reporting.
