Suburban TransNet, a regional transportation provider in Montgomery County, PA, faced declining reliability and largely manual operations due to an 11‑year‑old, unsupported scheduling system. Chosen by PennDOT as a pilot site in 2011, Suburban TransNet engaged Ecolane to replace their legacy software with modern, automated solutions to restore functionality, reporting and real‑time visibility.

Ecolane implemented its hosted Ecolane DRT scheduling and dispatching software, Touch Screen MDT for Android tablets, subcontractor portals, advanced and ad‑hoc reporting plus PennDOT custom reports, rolling out June–October 2012. The Ecolane solution supported the largest installation to date—over 3,300 trips per day and 300+ vehicles—cut staff by three full‑time positions, dramatically reduced hours spent on monthly reporting and audits, improved on‑time performance and trips per hour, enabled realtime GPS tracking for dispute resolution, and was completed on budget and on time with Ecolane providing hands‑on change management.
