Maui Economic Opportunity faced rapidly growing paratransit demand and needed automated scheduling and dispatching, real-time GPS tracking and dashboards, cost savings, and sophisticated ad-hoc reporting to satisfy county and federal requirements. Ecolane implemented continuous real-time optimization, a web-based automated dispatch platform, custom billing and interactive reporting, plus MDTs and IVR for arrivals and alerts. The results with Ecolane include $800K saved in the first year, 1,750 paratransit rides per week across 110 vehicles, 93% on-time performance, 5.52 rides per hour, and an early fuel savings example of 500 gallons in the first three weeks, while meeting all county and federal reporting requirements.
