Arlington Handitran was operating with an outdated, manual scheduling and dispatch system—relying on paper manifests, with poor on-time performance, unreliable driver tracking and a user-unfriendly workflow. They engaged Ecolane to modernize operations, deploying Ecolane DRT scheduling and dispatch software, Ecolane Touch Screen MDTs with turn-by-turn navigation on Android tablets, Ecolane Web Self-Service Customer Scheduling, and Ecolane’s advanced and ad-hoc reporting tools.

Ecolane’s solution fully automated scheduling and real-time optimization, introduced a mobile MDT app and web self-service, and provided robust reporting; the results include growing rides from about 300 to nearly 600 per day, improving rides per hour from 1.87 to 2.7 over 30 months, achieving >97% on-time performance, and handling roughly 430 one-way trips per weekday (2,150 rides/week). Ecolane’s implementation also enabled better resource utilization and faster support response.
