Preview of the The Gentle Pit Case Study

The Gentle Pit tests EcoEnclose’s Kraft Bag & Seal across 1,100 bags in a 3-month pilot

The Gentle Pit, a lifestyle apparel brand supporting bully-breed dog rescue, partnered with vendor EcoEnclose to beta test a new plastic-free inner packaging solution: the Kraft Bag & Seal. Their challenge was to find a sustainable alternative to their existing 100% recycled polybags that could protect their apparel, particularly delicate leggings, throughout a complex global supply chain from Asian factories to direct-to-customer delivery.

EcoEnclose provided their innovative Kraft Bag & Seal for a large-scale test. While the solution performed well through factory pack-out and international transit, it created fabric dusting and imprinting on the delicate leggings and caused customer service issues due to its opaque nature. As a result, The Gentle Pit achieved their goal of testing a sustainable innovation but decided the product was not the right fit, choosing to continue using EcoEnclose's 100% recycled clear polybags for optimal apparel protection and customer experience.
