Carbon Trust, working with ecoDriver, faced unexpected energy waste across a college building in Oxford after a pre-CEEP audit raised concerns about building control settings. ecoDriver’s energy management platform was used to carry out a deeper BMS health check and identify where HVAC and ventilation systems were not operating as intended.

ecoDriver found HVAC plant stuck in HAND mode, extract fans running 24/7, and heating set points set too high. After these issues were corrected and temperatures reduced, the changes cut energy waste by more than £5,000 per year, with further savings expected from the lower heating set points.
