Elsum Engineering, a Melbourne-based sheet metal manufacturer, faced rising competitive pressure and operational complexity: disparate subsystems, short delivery cycles, 24/7 production across four plants, and the need for real-time information and scalability to meet customer expectations. To address this, Elsum selected M1, the modular ERP from ECI Software Solutions, to unify processes and provide customizable, plug-in functionality.

ECI Software Solutions implemented M1’s open-ended, modular framework—including plug-in units like Quality Assurance and live shop-floor tracking—enabling real-time production scheduling across multiple plants. The solution lets Elsum manage up to ~400 customer orders and 10–15,000 components concurrently, supports their 24-hour operation with reduced downtime risk, and helps sustain ISO 9001:2000 quality targets (50 ppm) while delivering on-time to large customers such as Kenworth Trucks.
