La Plata Communities, a Colorado Springs master-planned community developer, was relying on a customized Microsoft Access system that had become time-consuming, error-prone, and limited in reporting and collaboration. Seeking a homebuilder-specific inventory and mapping solution, they engaged ECi MarkSystems and its LotVue interactive maps to replace the DIY Access workflow.

ECi MarkSystems implemented LotVue as a single cloud-based data source with visual interactive maps and self-serve access for builders, automating manual map creation (previously 2–3 hours), eliminating multiple spreadsheets, and expanding who could work with the data. The change cut time to prepare mission-critical reports by about 30%, enabled real-time lot updates and builder-entered contract/closing data, and helped La Plata manage growth as sales rose from roughly 130 to nearly 300 lots per year.
