A M1 Case Study
MD Orthopaedics, a niche manufacturer of pediatric orthopedic braces in Wayland, Iowa, faced rapid growth that outpaced its systems. After outgrowing QuickBooks and finding MISys poorly integrated, the company had disconnected inventory and sales data that hindered forecasting and inventory control. MD Orthopaedics chose M1 ERP (including its EasyOrder ecommerce and lot-tracking capabilities) to unify sales, inventory, HR, and financials on a single platform.
M1 handled data conversion, on-site setup and training, and the rollout of EasyOrder, enabling tighter inventory control and better demand visibility. Within three years MD Orthopaedics increased weekly shipments from about 625 to 850 (a 36% gain), cut ship-out time from two–three business days to same-day, sustained growth without increasing headcount (29 employees), moved toward just-in-time inventory from six-month stockpiles, and launched multi-currency ecommerce — measurable improvements delivered by M1.
