TriNet mandates immediate use of EchoUser design system after unifying multiple style guides

TriNet, an enterprise company, faced a significant challenge with inconsistent and overlapping internal style guides. This disorganization caused their engineering teams to ignore the guides and create custom UI elements, which resulted in a platform with major usability issues. TriNet asked the UX research and design agency EchoUser to create a unified design system to solve this problem and support both their design and engineering teams.

EchoUser implemented a multi-faceted solution, beginning with a competitive analysis that led them to use Material Design as a foundation. They audited all existing guides, resolved contradictions, and created new designs for uncovered elements. Through close collaboration with stakeholders, EchoUser created a new, unified design system. The solution was so successful that TriNet's VP of engineering immediately mandated its use, ensuring consistency across all products and improving collaboration between design and engineering teams.
