Stitcher improves first-time user experience in 4 weeks with EchoUser

Stitcher, a small startup in the internet radio space, sought to improve the first-time user experience for its iOS app to reduce new user churn without alienating its existing power users. They enlisted EchoUser’s help to understand the gap between casual and habitual use.

EchoUser implemented a multi-pronged approach using the RITE (Rapid Iterative Testing and Evaluation) method alongside a longitudinal diary study. This process identified key usability issues and behavioral patterns common to both new and power users. Ultimately, EchoUser guided Stitcher to design improvements that helped new users more reliably reach their personal "A-ha!" moment with the app.
