Univision launches PrendeTV with Echobind in weeks, reaching thousands of downloads

Univision, a leader in the Spanish-language media market, faced the challenge of rapidly integrating over 20,000 hours of new content from its acquisition of Vix into its PrendeTV streaming app. To meet tight beta launch deadlines, they needed to augment their team to build a proof of concept for the redesigned Video On Demand section across multiple mobile and TV platforms. Univision engaged Echobind to provide React Native development and assist with this complex technical build.

Echobind implemented the solution by transforming static designs into a fully functional React Native UI for both mobile and TV apps, later expanding their work to support the entire front end. The vendor also assisted with project management, QA testing across numerous devices, and translations. This collaboration resulted in a highly successful proof of concept that was fully adopted and launched on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and TV platforms like Fire TV and Roku. The app has been downloaded thousands of times and has a widespread user base across the U.S. and Latin America.
