A Echo360 Case Study
William Angliss Institute, Australia’s leading specialist centre for food, tourism, hospitality and events training with around 7,000 Melbourne-based students and a significant international presence, needed a better way to capture practical demonstrations and masterclasses. With limited recording capability but growing demand—especially from international and visual learners who wanted to re-watch cookery demos and specialist sessions—the institute used state project funding to introduce Echo360.
They installed cameras in lecture theatres, cookery demonstration rooms and the conference centre, rolled the service out via a soft launch and departmental champions, and integrated recordings with Moodle. Teachers found it easy to record and upload content, giving students 24/7 access, improving the learning experience (including for international and special needs students), and even creating new revenue opportunities; next steps include analytics, closed captioning and broader blended delivery.
