A Echo360 Case Study
The University of Edinburgh set out to roll out campus-wide lecture recording to improve the student experience but needed a solution that worked for both students and staff and avoided the complexity of their previous system. To ensure the student perspective shaped procurement and deployment, a student representative was embedded in the project team and students were engaged throughout the rollout.
The team selected Echo360 for its simplicity, flexible software approach and student-focused features such as Q&A and notetaking; student rep Karoline Nanfeldt helped define requirements, led communications and trained student helpers. Within months 50% of students had logged in despite less than half of rooms being fitted, and the programme improved accessibility, reduced study anxiety and continues with student interns and helpers supporting the multi-year rollout.
