A Echo360 Case Study
King’s College London, a leading university founded in 1829 with strong medical and law faculties, faced rising student demand for reliable access to lecture recordings and other digital learning resources. Their existing, internally managed capture system was stretched and risked being unable to scale as requests grew, so the university needed a way to deliver fast, consistent access to recorded teaching across more courses and rooms.
In September 2015 King’s upgraded to the Echo360 active learning platform, moving to hosted management, VLE integration and an opt-out capture policy. The system now runs in about 150 larger rooms, produces roughly 700 captures a week that appear in the VLE within one to two hours, and gives students 24/7 access for revision, support for non-native speakers and opportunities for flipped learning; overall it delivered higher reliability, HD quality and met a top student demand.
