How the University of Michigan will engage 2000 statistics students with Echo360 and the HyFlex+ instructional model

The University of Michigan, led by Dr. Jackie Miller, wanted to engage more than 2,000 statistics students in a large, high-enrollment course while giving them flexibility to participate in person or remotely. To support this challenge, the university used Echo360’s active learning and live streaming platform as part of its HyFlex+ instructional model.

Echo360 enabled live streaming, recorded lessons, polling, and text/browser-based student interaction through Canvas integration, creating an equivalent learning experience for on-campus and remote students. The approach delivered positive student reviews and strong engagement, while also supporting research on the HyFlex+ model through an NSF EAGER grant.
