Blended and Video-Based Freshman Experience Program Improves Student Retention

Lander University faced the challenge of improving student retention and preparing for a rigorous accreditation review, so it created the LINK first-year experience program to strengthen students’ academic and social skills. The university used Echo360 as the delivery platform for the program’s online learning and video-based content.

With Echo360, Lander University delivered lectures, presentations, and training online while using analytics to identify at-risk students and refine course content in real time. The results were strong: students who completed and passed the program had a 71% retention rate, eight points above the university average, and those earning an A or B were retained at 82%. Echo360 also helped save time by enabling reusable faculty and staff training, reducing the need to repeatedly schedule live sessions.
