Case Study: Points West Community Bank achieves 10-66x bandwidth gains and greater resiliency with Ecessa WANworX

A Ecessa Case Study

Preview of the Points West Community Bank Case Study

With ten locations across five states, PARDA Federal Credit Union was looking to Ecessa for a network upgrade from an expensive and lagging MPLS to SD-WAN

Points West Community Bank, a 17-location regional bank across Nebraska, Wyoming and Colorado, was hampered by a single-circuit MPLS network with slow branch speeds (many at 1.5–10 Mbps), costly monthly bills (~$28,000 total) and vulnerability to carrier outages. To migrate to SD‑WAN while keeping its existing datacenter security stack, Points West selected Ecessa and its WANworX and Ecessa Insight+ solutions.

Ecessa implemented a phased SD‑WAN deployment with active‑active dual circuits (dual gigabit at datacenter; 100 Mbps primary plus 10–25 Mbps secondary at branches), packet duplication for Citrix traffic, and selective local breakout with built‑in edge firewalling. The deployment delivered 10×–66× bandwidth increases at sites, improved redundancy and route/provider diversity, persistent Citrix sessions during link failures, and modest monthly cost savings — demonstrating clear performance and resiliency gains from Ecessa’s solution.
