Sunstone Circuits, a Mulino, OR PCB fabricator known for fast, small-run prototypes and a 30-minute average response time, faced a critical telecommunications challenge: any network outage threatened its ability to accept online orders and process rapid change requests. To protect its web and database services and ensure continuous customer responsiveness, Sunstone deployed Ecessa’s PowerLink® for failover protection.

Ecessa implemented a redundant network architecture—two fiber lines plus a broadband backup—and upgraded to two PowerLink units in a mirrored hardware failover configuration, also leveraging PowerLink’s firewall and VPN features. The automatic failover kept operations running during an accidental fiber cut, prevented service interruptions, eliminated overnight outage calls, and allowed Sunstone Circuits to handle heavy traffic and maintain fast online service delivery with no noticeable throttling.
