A Ecessa Case Study

Oxfam America - Customer Case Study

Oxfam America, the U.S. affiliate of Oxfam International with a major Boston office, faced intolerable WAN performance: two bonded T1s that theoretically provided ~3 Mbps suffered from latency and congestion, crippling SaaS use, video conferencing and collaboration tools. To address this, Oxfam engaged Ecessa and its PowerLink™ solution.

Ecessa deployed two PowerLink WAN controllers in a high-availability configuration and added a 10 Mbps up / 50 Mbps down cable circuit; PowerLink automatically load-balanced traffic across links and provided seamless failover so the broadband performed like a private link. The result for Oxfam America was markedly higher usable bandwidth, dramatically improved user productivity, fewer help-desk issues, and much lower costs—circuits dropped from $2,000/month to $300/month (about $1,700/month saved).
