Case Study: Egan Company achieves seamless, minimal-downtime data center relocation with Ecessa

A Ecessa Case Study

Preview of the Egan Company Case Study

How a team with a unique blend of talent and expertise executed a complex IT project on time and on budget and exceeded client expectations

Egan Company, a specialty contractor with more than 1,100 employees, needed to relocate its data center after deciding to sell an older facility as it shifted to a hybrid work model. CIO Jim Nonn engaged long-time vendor Ecessa (working in partnership with JDL Technologies) for advanced networking, virtualization and managed services, including deployment of Ecessa units, to augment his staff and reduce the risk of a complex move.

JDL/Ecessa executed a five‑phase statement of work—assessment, design, pre‑migration configuration and testing, migration, and post‑migration troubleshooting—putting teams on site for intensive racking, cabling and configuration work and following up the next day for any issues. The project finished on time and on budget, produced a refreshed, well‑documented network schematic, caused minimal downtime (an ISP hiccup was mitigated by a backup line and Ecessa units), and met or exceeded stakeholder expectations.
