Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) faced the challenge of reducing operational costs without cutting services, a key mission for UK Local Government. To achieve this, they sought to empower citizens with online self-service portals and integrate the captured data directly into back-office systems, thereby reducing costly call center interactions and manual data entry. They partnered with Ebase Technology and utilized the Verj.io platform to drive this digital transformation.

Ebase Technology implemented the Verj.io platform to build and manage over 200 digital citizen services for HCC. These applications ranged from online van permits and a certificate search portal to systems for school administration and admissions. As a result, HCC successfully streamlined its services, significantly improving efficiency and citizen self-service. Beginning in 2024, the council started migrating these on-premises applications to the Verj.io Cloud, demonstrating a continued and successful partnership with Ebase.
