A Eaton Case Study
WBOC-TV, the CBS affiliate known as Delmarva’s News Leader, needed a dependable UPS solution to keep critical broadcast equipment running through frequent power glitches and outages. With multiple blade servers, workstations, video gear, and on-air monitoring devices to protect, the station was struggling to manage nine separate UPS units, expand capacity, and maintain redundancy.
Eaton helped WBOC-TV implement the Eaton BladeUPS, a scalable, high-efficiency power protection system with Hot Sync paralleling and hot-swappable modules. The new setup improved uptime and reliability, simplified monitoring and maintenance from a central point, and let the station expand power capacity cost-effectively without downtime. Eaton’s solution also delivered energy savings with 97% efficiency and reduced the need for additional electrical work.
