A Eaton Case Study
Siteserver, a collocation and web hosting provider serving more than 7,000 customers worldwide, needed a power protection solution that could deliver true 24x7 uptime for its SLAs. As the company prepared to move to a new HP blade system in a virtualized environment, it looked for an Eaton UPS that could support three-phase power, fit into a dedicated space in its data center, and avoid the limitations of row-mounted installations.
Eaton implemented the 9390 UPS, an 80 kVA three-phase system with a small footprint, front-access servicing, scalable architecture, high efficiency, and low harmonic distortion. The result was seamless deployment, improved peace of mind, reduced energy and cooling costs, and reliable ride-through during outages—including an eight-hour blackout where the UPS kept everything running until the generator started. Siteserver also gained easier maintenance and the ability to scale without immediately upgrading its power infrastructure.
