Teraco tackles load shedding, efficiency and management issues with Power Xpert 9395 UPS

Teraco Data Environments, a South African vendor-neutral data center provider, needed to ensure consistent power quality and uptime in a market where load shedding and strain on the electrical grid are a fact of life. To support its mission-critical colocation services, Teraco turned to Eaton and its Power Xpert 9395 UPS platform.

Eaton implemented modular Power Xpert 9395 UPS systems across Teraco’s facilities in Isando and Cape Town, using 1100kVA, 550kVA, and 275kVA units with variable module management to match capacity to demand and improve redundancy. The solution reduced unnecessary CAPEX and OPEX, improved efficiency and scalability, and helped Teraco meet its PUE targets while continuing to dominate the large-enterprise colocation market despite frequent grid disruptions.
