Seneca Sustainable Energy calls on Eaton to help build a new high-efficiency biomass power plant

NAPA Auto Parts faced pressure to improve energy efficiency, reduce operating costs, and address environmental concerns as a lumber mill’s demand and margins tightened. Eaton helped support the need for a more efficient on-site power strategy with power distribution equipment for a biomass-based co-generation plant.

Eaton implemented medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, low-voltage front-access switchgear, high-resistance grounding, and arc-flash reduction maintenance features to support the new biomass power system. The result was a safer, more reliable, and more efficient operation, with the plant generating 19.8 MW of renewable power, enough to supply about 13,000 homes annually, while also reducing emissions and improving workplace safety.
