Kalmar’s RT022 rough-terrain telescopic forklifts keep expeditionary military operations up and running with Eaton’s DuraForce pumps

Kalmar RT Center, LLC, a manufacturer of material handling equipment, required an extremely durable and reliable hydraulic pump solution for its new RT022 rough-terrain military forklift. The challenge was to find a pump that could withstand 15 years of operation in the harshest conditions, including sand, mud, and water, while providing the precise control needed for maneuvering inside ISO containers. Eaton provided its DuraForce HPV pump and HMV motor with CA control as the solution.

Eaton's DuraForce system delivered the robust performance and precise control required, functioning as an out-of-the-box solution that saved Kalmar engineering development time. The results have been exceptional, with over 1,000 RT022 forklifts deployed for the US Department of Defense without any field issues. The military has been highly pleased with the machine's issue-free performance, meeting the demanding needs of its expeditionary operations.
