Heavy construction fleet vows to stick with Eaton Automated Transmissions

Redbank Transport, a family-owned 65-truck construction fleet based in Cincinnati, Ohio, faced tough vocational driving conditions, including off-road work, soft ground after rain, steep backing maneuvers, fuel-cost pressure, and driver comfort and retention challenges. The company needed equipment that could handle heavy construction hauling more efficiently and safely, and chose Eaton’s UltraShift® PLUS automated transmissions.

Eaton implemented UltraShift PLUS AMTs across Redbank’s fleet, including VCS, VHP, and MHP models, giving drivers a fully automated two-pedal setup with features like hill start aid, creep mode, and manual control when needed. The results included improved maneuverability, greater driver comfort, and better fuel economy, with Redbank reporting about 5.67 miles per gallon, along with strong support from Eaton’s Roadranger representative that helped fine-tune performance.
