A Eaton Case Study
Two Amigos, a commercial vehicle renting and leasing customer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, needed a transmission that could withstand driver behavior in its busy furniture delivery and moving fleet while reducing repairs and maintenance. The company had been dealing with excessive clutch and synchronizer wear from standard transmissions across vehicles that can run up to 12 hours a day and make 10 to 16 deliveries.
Eaton recommended its UltraShift HV automated transmission for Two Amigos’ new Kenworth T370 medium-duty trucks. The automated two-pedal design and smooth gear changes helped eliminate aggressive shifting, which reduced maintenance issues and kept the trucks on the road; according to the fleet manager, the transmissions have been “pretty much bulletproof,” with maintenance needs effectively eliminated and the equipment working instead of sitting in the shop.
