Fabriweld Senses Big Benefits With Load-Sensing Hydraulic System

Fabriweld Corporation, a custom machine builder in Norwalk, Ohio, worked with Eaton to address issues on a press related to command signal resolution and acceleration/deceleration rates. Although the existing hydraulic setup used Eaton components, the system had inconsistent flow and limited useful range from the 10-volt signal, making precise control difficult.

Eaton and distributor partner Sentinel Fluid Controls reengineered the press using load-sensing technology with existing Eaton piston and vane pumps, cartridge valves, proportional valves, and signal generator modules. The result was smoother and quieter operation, more consistent speed and control, lower energy use, and a system that was 15% less expensive than the previous one.
