Shuttlewagon, a designer and manufacturer of mobile railcar movers, faced a challenge when its existing hydraulic pumps were phased out. They needed a reliable, cost-effective replacement that could perform in extremely harsh and dirty environments without sacrificing power. Eaton, through its distributor, provided a solution using their X20, 420 series piston pumps.
The Eaton 420 series pumps were successfully installed across Shuttlewagon’s vehicle fleet. The solution delivered the required power in a more compact size, freeing up valuable space. The pumps' durability was proven with several hundred units in service and zero reported failures. Eaton's solution was so effective that it was also implemented in a triple-pump configuration to power additional vehicle functions.
