Eaton’s innovative modular substation helps Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative quickly add capacity to meet customer demand

Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative, a member-owned utility, needed to rapidly add transmission capacity to meet the expanding demand of an industrial customer within an aggressive timeline. With limited internal resources, they turned to Eaton for a solution. Eaton proposed its modular integrated transportable substation (MITS) to expedite the engineering and construction process.

By using Eaton's factory-assembled MITS solution, the substation was designed, built, and commissioned just two months after breaking ground. This modular approach significantly accelerated the project timeline and helped decrease overall costs. The result allowed Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative to quickly meet its members' power requirements with a scalable, reliable, and high-quality service.
