Eaton Tubing Specified for Refueling Trucks at Andersen Air Force Base

Andersen Air Force Base in Guam needed a tubing solution for its hydrant refueling trucks that could withstand tropical weather, intense UV exposure, and jet fuel. The existing sensor fuel tubing was cracking, causing premature hose failures and hazardous fuel spills. Eaton was brought in to help, with KYNAR tubing identified as the best fit for the application.

Eaton designed and tested two tubing options, including a 100% KYNAR solution, and shipped prototypes for field testing at Andersen Air Force Base. After six months of flawless performance, the base decided to retrofit all 13 of its refueling trucks with Eaton’s 100% KYNAR tubing and Aeroquip fittings, resulting in a flexible, durable solution that eliminated the failure issue.
