Case Study: Hine Renovables achieves 150 MW solar tracking reliability with Eaton hydraulic solutions

A Eaton Case Study

Preview of the Hine Renovables Case Study

Eaton technology helps Hine Renovables deliver for solar plants set to reduce carbon dioxide emissions in South Africa

Hine Renovables, a Spanish hydraulics expert, required a durable and reliable valve solution for the hydraulic power packs controlling solar panel trackers at two new power plants in South Africa. The challenge was to supply components that could perform precise movements under harsh conditions, including heavy winds and extreme temperature variations. They turned to their long-term partner, Eaton, for a solution.

Eaton provided over 80,000 valves and specialized hoses to meet the demanding requirements. As a result of this high-quality, cost-effective solution, Hine Renovables successfully equipped the plants. The two facilities, with a combined capacity of 150 MW, are projected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by an estimated 500,000 tons per year. Eaton's products ensured a long-lasting and efficient tracking system for the solar panels.
