Case Study: Raven Transport achieves lower clutch maintenance and long service life with Eaton Solo Advantage clutches

A Eaton Case Study

Eaton Solo Clutches simplify, enhance Fleet’s preventative maintenance program

Raven Transport, a Jacksonville, Florida-based long-distance linehaul carrier, needed a way to keep its preventative maintenance program effective even when trucks were on the road for weeks at a time and missed scheduled service intervals. To reduce maintenance demands on its sleeper tractors, the company turned to Eaton and its self-adjusting Solo Advantage™ clutch.

Eaton’s Solo clutch eliminated the need for frequent manual clutch adjustments and lubrication, helping Raven simplify maintenance and keep trucks operating reliably between terminal visits. The results were strong: Raven reported that its trucks could go longer between service events, and 115 Volvo sleepers reached trade-in at 500,000 to 550,000 miles with not a single clutch replaced due to wear.
