Case Study: Webaxys achieves greener, energy-independent data center operations with Eaton

A Eaton Case Study

Preview of the Webaxys Case Study

Eaton provides Webaxys’ new eco-designed data center with a complete energy storage and management system

Webaxys, a hosting company and telecom operator in Normandy, France, wanted to build a new eco-designed data center that would be more environmentally friendly while still meeting the constant power demands of modern IT operations. Eaton helped address this challenge with an energy storage and management approach built to support renewable energy and battery storage, including its xStorage buildings solution, 93PM UPS, and IPM infrastructure monitoring software.

Eaton implemented a system that combines Nissan second-life EV batteries with Eaton power infrastructure to manage energy from the grid, photovoltaic sources, and batteries in real time. The solution gives Webaxys visibility down to the server level, optimizes energy use across sources, and reduces environmental impact while supporting service quality. Since its launch, the data center has shown that small and medium-sized facilities can operate more autonomously and sustainably, with 30 IT racks installed and space for 60 more.
