Eaton Filter Housing Helps General Finishes Keep Up With Demand

General Finishes, a manufacturer of high-quality water-based and solvent-based wood finishes, coatings, and flooring products in East Troy, Wisconsin, needed to reduce operator intervention and downtime while increasing production to meet growing demand. As the company expanded and moved toward a more automated manufacturing process, its existing filtration setup could not keep up with the higher flow rates or the maintenance demands of the operation. Eaton was brought in to help with filtration, using a SIDELINE single bag filter housing.

Eaton recommended replacing the old filtration system with a SIDELINE single bag filter housing designed for industrial use. The new solution reduced product loss, simplified sampling and bag changes, and cut downtime for sampling from 30 minutes to 5 minutes. Since implementing Eaton’s system, General Finishes has increased production by 305% and boosted flow rates from 4 GPM to 9.5 GPM, while maintaining the consistent, high-quality finish its customers expect.
