Eaton DCF Filters Help Global Titanium Recycle Vital Aerospace Metal

Eaton provided a filtration solution for Global Titanium, a titanium recycling company in Detroit, Michigan. The customer's challenge was to protect a critical ultra-filtration system from being damaged by small titanium particles in its wash water, which also contained difficult contaminants like cardboard fibers. They needed a robust pre-filter to handle 100,000 gallons of water daily and recover valuable titanium for recycling, all while minimizing maintenance and downtime.

The solution implemented by Eaton was the installation of two DCF-1600 mechanically cleaned filters with 0.006” slotted element media. This system efficiently captured titanium particulate, which extended the life of the ultra filter and contributed to a 75% reduction in the plant's water consumption. The results for Global Titanium included significant material recovery and water savings, leading to an estimated return on investment of less than six months. Eaton's customer service was also noted as outstanding.
