Case Study: Guizhou Aviation Industry Group achieves superior cotton harvester performance with Eaton hydraulic solutions

Eaton components are selected by China’s largest cotton harvesting equipment producer

Guizhou Aviation Industry Group (GAIG) Agriculture Equipment Company, Ltd., China’s largest cotton harvesting equipment producer, needed hydraulic products that could outperform competitors on its large self-propelled cotton harvesters. Eaton was brought in to provide a packaged hydraulic solution, including a Series 1 heavy-duty hydrostatic transmission, 420 Series open-circuit piston pump, valve manifolds, XCEL 45 steering unit, and Char-Lynn LSHT motor, with the goal of improving drivability, productivity, and compact system integration.

Eaton delivered prototypes on a short timeline and supported GAIG through extended field trials with strong application engineering and onsite technical support. As a result, GAIG selected Eaton as the hydraulics supplier for its large 4MZ-5 cotton harvesters, leading to ongoing batch supply orders beginning in January 2011 and strengthening Eaton’s position in China’s agriculture machinery market.
