Eaton advanced electrohydraulic system increases automation and control on Wastech refuse trucks

Wastech Engineering, an Australian refuse truck manufacturer, needed a controller for its EVO31 front-lift trucks that could handle fluctuating voltages, provide precise control of the main directional valve, and support a touchscreen with four camera feeds. Eaton supplied an electrohydraulic solution built around the Eaton F(x) system to address the stability and control challenges on the mobile vehicle platform.

Eaton implemented the F(x) electrohydraulic system with an EFX electronic controller, VFX display, JFX joystick, and related hydraulic components, replacing a less suitable industrial controller setup. The result was a more stable, reliable truck platform, complete camera functionality, and improved operator feel and confidence; Wastech standardized the Eaton system as standard equipment on its EVO31 front-lift refuse trucks.
