Case Study: Houston Astros ensure reliable uptime with Eaton 9155 UPS

A Eaton Case Study

Preview of the Houston Astros Case Study

Eaton 9155 a big hit with the Houston Astros

The Houston Astros, a Major League Baseball team based at Minute Maid Park in Houston, needed a highly reliable power protection solution for its data center and critical networking equipment. Their challenge was to replace several smaller UPS units that were harder to manage, were being outgrown, and could no longer guarantee continuous uptime for business systems like ticket sales, accounting, email, payroll, and reservations. Eaton provided the Eaton 9155 UPS to meet these needs.

Eaton implemented a centralized Eaton 9155 UPS with optional extended battery modules, along with an ePDU and ConnectUPS Web/SNMP device for power monitoring and remote management. The solution helped the Astros achieve high availability for critical systems, continuous uptime, easier maintenance, future scalability, a small footprint, and greener, more efficient power protection with up to 90% efficiency. The Astros also gained extended runtime options and better support for generator backup power, while reducing the risk of shutdowns across their operations.
