Dump truck fleet piling up newfound profits with Eaton automation

Bailey Trucking, Inc., a construction and transportation fleet based in Yoder, Indiana, needed to keep dump trucks moving quickly and safely on tough job sites while controlling fuel, tire, and operating costs. The company also wanted more durable equipment for its growing fleet, and it turned to Eaton’s UltraShift PLUS automated transmission for help.

Eaton implemented UltraShift PLUS VCS automated manual transmissions in Bailey Trucking’s new Freightliner trucks, giving the fleet automated shifting, strong vocational performance, and improved maneuverability. The results were significant: Bailey Trucking reported about 1.5 miles per gallon better fuel economy, roughly 15% longer tire life, and safer operation thanks to the two-pedal design, all contributing to lower costs and better profitability.
