Case Study: Delhaize achieves reliable distribution centre power protection with Eaton UPS

A Eaton Case Study

Preview of the Delhaize Case Study

Delhaize - Customer Case Study

Delhaize, the Belgian international food retailer, needed stronger power protection for its first semi-automatic distribution centre in Zellik, Belgium. As the centre’s automated cranes and delivery operations became more dependent on continuous power, even brief outages, sags, or surges could disrupt pickups and deliveries and cause costly downtime. Eaton provided the power protection solution, centered on the Eaton 9395 825 kVA UPS.

Eaton installed the 9395 825 kVA UPS to protect the distribution centre’s automated cranes from power anomalies and keep operations running smoothly. The double-conversion design and Hot Sync paralleling technology gave Delhaize reliable backup power, helping avoid a full day of lost productivity and a 24-hour crane reset after interruptions. The system has been in full operation since September 2009, and Delhaize reported a smooth project and strong confidence in Eaton’s project management, responsiveness, and price-quality ratio.
