Contractor Thinks Eaton’s Transmissions Are the Smart Choice

Gibco Construction, a highway construction and site preparation company based in Cleveland, Tennessee, faced rising fuel and equipment costs while also trying to retain skilled drivers. To support its 100-truck fleet, the company looked to Eaton and its automated transmission technology as a way to improve efficiency and ease the demands of start-and-stop vocational driving.

Eaton’s UltraShift PLUS automated transmissions, specifically the Vocational Construction Series, were installed as standard equipment on new trucks at Gibco Construction. The result was better fuel economy of about 1.5 to 2 mpg, improved driver comfort and safety, and strong durability with zero complaints or issues reported, helping Gibco lower operating costs and improve driver retention.
