Co-Packer Depends On Eaton To Keep Frozen Sausage Production Flowing

Crane Engineering worked with Eaton to solve a costly contamination problem in a frozen sausage co-packing operation. The customer’s glycol/water process fluid was getting clogged by debris in the chiller system, causing over-temperature incidents, production downtime, and expensive fluid replacement and maintenance.

Eaton first proved out a self-cleaning filter approach with the DCF-800, then Crane Engineering installed an Eaton DCF-3000 automatic self-cleaning filter for the full 1,000 gpm application. The result was a far more stable filtration process with little to no maintenance: the first DCF-3000 ran 3.5 years with no maintenance or downtime, stopped the screens from plugging, and helped reduce lost product and shutdown risk.
