Cava Grill - Customer Case Study

Cava Grill, a Washington, D.C.–based fast-casual chain, wanted better control of its labor costs and visibility into individual employee hours. Working with Eat App, Cava used the vendor’s data analytics capabilities to analyze historical clock-in/clock-out data and run staffing simulations to identify which locations were at greatest risk of higher-than-normal labor costs.

Eat App’s analytics enabled Cava Grill to align labor costs with store-level profitability and reduce the risk of unexpected labor overruns by targeting at-risk locations for staffing adjustments. The analysis also revealed a guest shift from pita to rice and salad, prompting Cava to emphasize salad presentation in marketing and in-restaurant displays to capture changing preferences.
