How to Create Awareness with a Fun Hashtag Contest to Promote a Product

Funkin Cocktails, a British mixer brand, needed a playful campaign to introduce its new Funkin Shaker mixers to the home cocktail market and drive engagement around the product. To do this they worked with Easypromos, using the Mention + Hashtag Contest app to create a shareable #SHAKERFACE promotion that asked consumers to submit photos or videos shaking their cocktails.

Easypromos powered an 8‑month multi‑channel contest across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, collecting user‑generated content, running monthly and grand prizes, and amplifying entries via paid social, email and sampling. The campaign generated 693 unique site visits, 100 entries and a combined social reach of over 50,000; while participation rates were below expectations, engagement was positive, UGC was reused at events and Funkin found the Easypromos tool straightforward and cost‑effective.
